Oxford Diffraction chiller units are included as part of our small molecule and protein X-ray systems. Of the water to water type, our chiller units are used to provide cooling for the CCD detector and X-ray tube.

CCD chiller unit

The CCD chiller is a free standing cooling unit, with built-in compressor and water container. Provided as standard with all Oxford Diffraction CCD X-ray systems, the CCD chiller delivers cooled water at 12 - 14 degrees Celsius to the peltier cooler used in Oxford Diffraction CCD detectors.

The CCD chiller provides:

  • Temperature stabilisation of the cooling water
  • Electronic flow control
  • High temperature protection
  • Control of the cooling water level in the container
  • Compact design for indoor installation

X-ray tube water chiller

The X-ray tube water chiller chiller unit is a simple and economic cooling device of the water to water type. Provided with all our X-ray systems, the X-ray tube water chiller is used to isolate the sensitive cooling circuit of the X-ray tube from potentially poor tap water.

The X-ray tube water chiller provides:

  • High efficiency heat transfer
  • Temperature stabilisation of the cooling water
  • Automatic flow control
  • High temperature protection
  • Protection against over pressure
  • Protection against disconnection or break of the cooling pipe system
  • Compact design
  • Low noise level
