Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade

Only conferred on an elite group of the UK’s most successful companies, the Queen’s Award honours the management and workforce. Awarded for outstanding performance in the growth of the company’s international exports and on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, the Queen’s Award is conferred by Her Majesty The Queen for a period of 5 years.

Announced on the occasion of Her Majesty The Queen’s 80th birthday Oxford Diffraction Ltd was granted by appointment the prestigious accolade of a 2006 Queen’s award for Enterprise: International Trade.

R&D 100 Technology Awards

The R&D 100 awards, from R&D magazine were first awarded 43 years ago and were designed to highlight the 100 most technologically significant new products of each year. Entries for the award are judged by at least 60 outside experts drawn from unbiased professional consultants, university faculty, and industrial researchers with superior expertise and experience in the areas being judged. The winning of an R&D 100 Award provides a mark of excellence seen by industry, government, and academia as proof that the product is one of the most innovative ideas of the year.

In 2004 Oxford Diffraction was awarded a R&D 100 for the Xcalibur PX Ultra diffractometer.

The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100

The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100’, ranks the UK’s fastest-growing unquoted technology companies by sales growth over the previous two years. Companies are selected using the London Stock Exchange's techMARK definition of a technology company with particular focus on the development of new technology.

During the 2005 Tech Track 100 awards, Oxford Diffraction was ranked at number 44.
